How To Beat Polymyalgia Rheumatica And Get Back Your Life

I have written a book, jauntily entitled “How To Beat Polymyalgia Rheumatica And Get Back Your Life”. I know, it’s a bit of a mouthful and to be honest if you’re looking for car chases or a rom-com it’s probably not for you. However, if you are struggling with polymyalgia rheumatica (PMR) and you want to find a way of dealing with the symptoms of aches, pain and fatigue, then this book could definitely be for you.

Dealing With PMR Using Natural Methods

My book is about dealing with PMR using natural methods. You can find the book on Amazon in both paperback and kindle form, I think you can read it for free if you have Kindle Unlimited. Now I know that most people who have been diagnosed with polymyalgia will have probably been prescribed with steroids and so I am not saying don’t take steroids. However what I am saying is that, rather than just masking the symptoms, you can also actually go a long way to eradicating the symptoms by bringing down the inflammation in your body.

I was lucky in that I managed to deal with the pain without using prednisone and I found that following a strict keto diet, getting lots of sleep, more exercise, more sunshine and using a few electrolytes, I could bring my inflammation levels to virtually zero. I am not saying it is the easy road to go down and I know that you have to be very controlled and strict with yourself but it is definitely doable.

I am 65 and I have not felt as good as this since I was in my 30’s. I have lost weight, my skin has improved, my digestion feels nice and calm, my aches and pains have miraculously vanished and the brain fog has cleared leaving me so much sharper. My eyesight has even improved as I found in my latest trip to the opticians!

Using A Keto Diet To Eliminate Polymyalgia Rheumatica Symptoms

The real key to my recovery has been converting to a keto diet. This has rid my system of all the glucose that was clogging me up and leading to all sorts of issues. A lot of our modern societies non communicable diseases are as a result of eating too many carbs and following a low fat diet full of ultra processed foods. We need to get back to whole foods and eating real food like meat, fish, eggs, berries, nuts, seeds and a few vegetables.

My book follows my whole journey from getting ill, thinking I was going to die, getting diagnosed, making the decision to completely change my lifestyle along with my diet, and a few months later being in complete remission from my polymyalgia rheumatica symptoms. It has been quite a rollercoaster but one that I am so happy I have been on. I honestly would never have believed that a change of diet could have such a transformational effect on me but it has and I will always be grateful that I went to a low carb diet and ditched the ultra processed foods completely.

Going All Out To Reduce Inflammation

I don’t go for this ‘everything in moderation’ mantra. If something is bad for you it’s bad for you, I mean you don’t say a little moderate pick-pocketing or bigamy is OK. Granted if you start to eat more whole foods and cut down your carbs a little this will be helpful but I like to go all in when I do something so I’d rather go cold turkey and cut out all the bad stuff in one go.

One thing to note, when you change to a keto diet you may experience what is known as ‘keto flu’. This happens because your body is flushing more sodium out due to your dietary changes so you need to take in more salt. This feeling usually only lasts a few days but ensuring you keep hydrating and taking more salt should rectify any issues.

If you read my book I sincerely hope it helps you as much as following these methods has helped me. Once again you can check out the book in both paperback and kindle form at this link at Amazon.
