My name is Des and I am passionate about eating a REAL healthy diet, rich in natural whole foods. I follow a keto diet eating as little ultra processed foods as possible.

I started following this type of diet after I became ill around 2 years ago. I got diagnosed with polymyalgia rheumatica (PMR) and I was in terrible pain around my legs, shoulders and neck. I was getting severe night cramps, sweats and fatigue so bad I could hardly walk some days.

My GP diagnosed me and urged me to start taking steroids (prednisone) but I was worried about the side effects of which there can be many and refused. Instead I studied various ways that people have combated this illness and I found that quite a few were following a keto or carnivore diet to relieve their symptoms.

So that’s what I did, and after a lot of experimenting and tinkering with my daily diet I finally found the diet that suited my particular situation best, eating natural whole foods including meat, fish, eggs, avocado, Greek yoghurt, butter, olive oil, nuts, seeds, berries and a few vegetables. I eat very few carbs.

It’s worked like a dream! My polymyalgia rheumatica symptoms are in remission and have been for 18 months or so, I have lost 2 stone, my brain is sharper, my eyesight is even better!

I hope you find this website useful, I am building a hub that can be used by anyone who wants to live a healthier life. It has amazed me how a radical change of diet can improve your health so much and I have learnt that it can put many other non communicable diseases into remission besides PMR.
